LIDAR on I2C on APM

Hi guys,

Just a question about the LIDAR from Pulsedlight3d - I got mine today, but the best rig for testing it is an APM, not a pixhawk. The LIDAR is i2C.

Can I run the I2C board (https://store.3drobotics.com/products/pixhawk-i2c-splitter) from the APM's i2C port, plug the LiDAR into that? Or is it Pixhawk only? I'd like to retain the external compass while running the LIDAR, obviously.

  • Can anyone advise if the early build pulsedlight lidars work on I2C  with APM 2.6?

  • first of all this is NOT a lidar, but a distance sensor. Even spinning it one one axis, you are still a lot far away from proper LIDAR.

    BUT

    i also looked at that sensor, and i'm thinking about buing it.

    i2c is i2c and is a standard, you can easyly find Arduino library for that sensor, and they are easy to understand how the sensor "talk", but the truth is you will make a much more better work looking at yhe official documentatio http://pulsedlight3d.com/pages/docs
