Loiter goes straight ahead and crash

Hi to all,

today,

When I put my octo copter in loiter it doesn't seem to go all different directions but it just goes straight ahead and wont stop until I manually move the sticks to bring it back down, but fell from 2 meters....

I broke 5 propeller.

two flights:

first is in stabilize and loiter and land.

second is all on loiter mode.

the video is from the second flight:

Loiter goes straight ahead video

Another question why is so unstable when it tries to fly?

- Like a weak response from gyro, to stabilize itself.

Have a good luck to all :)

  • first: put batteries under frame, your center of gravity seems higher than motors.

Second: try with default PID, and try stabilize and Althold. Your stab_P is too low,  Don't use loiter if you don't see good result in stabilize and althold.

If your configuration is right, with default PID should already fly well.

    • Thanks,

Next time i will put them under the frame.

But after we set the gimbal with dslr camera under the frame, can we put the batteries at the same place?

      We are with default PID.

How to change or with what steps to change PID safely?

      • I looked at your log and are not those default

        Theese are default:

        • Thank you,

Strange, I do only the wizard for all the calibrations and then I calibrate the esc. I didn't go to this pids section, because I didn't understand it.

I will make some platform for tests :).

what is the best way to change them, like 0.1 or 0.01 step?

          Some advice.

  • Hi,

Your copter was not tuned right, try to tune it for right PID then try again!
