Mid-Flight Voltage drop

Hi,

i'm running an F550 frame with an APM (hkpilot 2.7) and E300 propulsion system (15A Opto esc's).

Whenever i'm in the air the battery voltage drops below 11 volts with a fully charged pack. My current readings are around 20A at full throttle. Im using 30c - 60c batteries.

I've plugged an external voltage alarm to the balance lead to check if the power module is misreading the values but they are correct. I've also tried 40 -80c and 4s 40 - 80 c batteries but no luck.

Upon landing the voltage goes back to where it should be.

My system has one battery powering the apm via power module. All the fpv equipment gets the power directly from the battery.

What could be the problem?

Thanks.

  • Have you calibrated the Power Module?

    Is it a 3DR power module of a clone?

    • Hi;
      I did calibrate the module. It's a 3DR clone (HKpilot), i set the module as a 3DR power module on a 3DR APM. My readings for the voltage and the current looks accurate.

      I've tested it with a spare 4s battery that was lying around. It was 25c and kinda old so it might not have performed well. You can see in the graph where i fixed the f550 in place and applied full throttle. The amp goes up to 35 and voltage drops to 13.6 but I guess this is normal for a 25c battery.

      You can find my ThrOut vs Voltage graph in the attached file.
