(Please excuse the repeated words if any or other issues as I have been nursing a copter eye injury)
After connecting Minimosd I do not get any overlay...
I get the picture coming through but nothing from the osd...
I get both lights... red, but nothing on the screen.
I can save parameters to the board, and read the correct ones from in the configuration however it will not let me load a hex file from the configuration and give me a error to use Arduino.
Any help on this would be much appreciated.
It was not well documented and figured it was a order of operation error, not a faulty part so I began to dig;
Here is the Solution:
1. Connect FDTI cable to correct Pins on the Minimosd, then you can load one of the gui configurators, both the latest version as of the date of this post worked fine.
This is the deceiving part, although you can read from the Minimosd you will notice that if you try and load the charater set from the tools menu or load a new firmware it will fail,
2. this is the important part, after you connected the fdti cable a 12v supply must power the analog video once you do this the board will boot.
To check this I had my monitor running, and you will see the firmware displayed when the fdti cable is connected
3. Now you can load firmware or the character set., after each load you will get a confirmation and you will see the minimosd reboot, it will be indicated on both the computer screen and in the overlay..
at this time set up all the panels and other setting to you liking, there are allot of youtube video on this part...
4, after everything load correctly, no error you will see the standard text showing firmware, you can then unplug the fdti cable and plug in the pixhawk and connect the telem 1 or 2 port according to the correct pins in the minimosd wiki, and pixhawk wiki
5. at this point the osd will boot up and you will now see the hud as you setup on the screen after a boot screen. telemetry data will be populated as the pixhawk updates

Thank-you for this! After 2 days of frustration and choice 4 letter words, I finally have telemetry!
Also I found I was having a brownout issue and have been running a 2nd 3s for the gimbal, minim, 5.8 tx, cam, leds until I receive a 3A 12v version, I got a board and found out the Rangevideo board only does 600ma... Something to look out for, I had ordered a BEC from HobbyKing but after 38 days it is still not here, today ordered another I found on amazon that will arrive tomorrow, however getting good power that is clean seems to be the best thing for the fpv system
