quad keeps flying to one side

Guys,My quad keeps on flying to one side, on the mission planner all the sensors seem to be working fine. I did noticed I have a bent motor shaft will that cause this behavior? And if so, are there any solid shafts out there that won't bend as often ( this is my 3rd one bent and there a pain to replace). I also recently crashed and broke my stack up, and removed all my telemetry, gps, and changed different radio and transmitter. Also haven't tuned it since the change. Its actually really almost flypping on take off and hits the props causing props to snap. I was flying it some what stable already untill the crash.Any input would help.Best regards,Luis

  • When you have it on a level surface and connected to Mission Planner, is the artificial horizon straight and level?

You mentioned breaking your stack recently, it could be that your APM is on an angle to the frame. It tries to keep itself straight, which would mean the frame is then on an angle.

@Andrew: CG isn't critical from my experience, I frequently fly with my quad way out of balance because of cameras hanging off the front or back. I know it's not ideal but it seems to handle it pretty well, you can notice from the logs that the motors on the heavy end work harder than those on the light end, but no adverse effects.

  • * Yes replace the bent motor shaft for sure.

    * Balance all props, do not use any props which have nicks or dings from crashes. Reject any props which do not track straight.

    * Check your center of gravity

If it still leans when all of the above seems fine, then check you stab I term is not 0.
