Skywalker X8 Build

Hi guys.

I'm waiting for my Skywalker X8 Black to arrive but in the meantime I have started thinking about a suitable build for mapping large areas. Jobs would be between 2 to 10 square kilometres.  Therefore long flight time are required.

The only 3 sure things of the build are.

1. Skywalker Black X8 airframe.

2. Sony A6000 camera. (460g)

3. Pixhawk 2 Cube, Flight Controller.

4. Twin battery setup. (For some redundancy)

Would anyone know of a suitable combination to allow for flight times of at least 90min for;

a. Motor

b.Prop

c. 2 x Battery Setup

Thanks guys, this information would be much appreciated

  • :) if you are new to building planes from scratch, this is one is a monster plane to build. Buddy take your time.

Its a bit** to launch this plane also.

  • This is the best custom X8 mod and design I have seen so far.

I am using ultra long range TX/RX that goes up to 80 KM. Plus 4G/5G LTE video transmission.

This is the motor I am going to use with 80 AMP ESC

  • I am building one myself, however, at this point don't know what kind of flight time I will get out of it.

I am planning to use either two x 5000 maH batteries or one 10,000 mAh battery.

I still need to do all the calculations yet to figure out final payload and the motor I will use. I am planning to use a Scorpion motor.
