Standalone accelerometer vs AHRS

Hello,

As a learning project - I'd like to build a PID stabilized see-saw (DC motor with a propeller on each end).

At the center of the see-saw teetering axis I need an inclination sensing element.

Do you think a fully featured AHRS is required or a simple accelerometer will do?

  • It should work

    Other methods may be:

    - fixed magnetometer - pivoting magnet in the center.

    - ultrasound sensor measuring distance between one arm and the ground..

    -------------

And if it's slightly off-balanced you can try to spare one motor/propeller :D
