Tablet For Mission Planner

I have watched some videos where a tablet is being used with Mission Planner.   I would like to know what tablets work the best and will help while I am flying the IRIS.

Do I need one that has GPS or is that only for the follow option?

If someone could list the Tablets that would be the best I would appreciate the help.

    Hello Michael.

What people are using isn't Mission Planner, instead it's new GCS software specific for Android. You can download DroidPlanner for free at the play store (I'm the main developer of DP), there is also AndroPilot as an alternative (both projects are open-source).

For the tablet I really recommend you to get a Nexus 7, which will be the best value per price you will find. There is a list of compatible devices here (user maintained). You do not need the GPS for it to work (although I didn't tested without a GPS).

If you need further help regarding DroidPlanner we have an active forum here.
