Transmitting two video sources...

Hi all,

I'm currently designing a setup with two tx and two cams, one for fpv and one as preview of a go pro/5d. the go pro/5d is piloted as a standalone on a 3axis gimbal.

I've seen wifi video Transmission over wifi -carambola setup on the ground - on one side and telemetry on carambola on the other hand.

But not much about it either and they're all said laggy for the cheap $ setups.

So video over WIFI or zigbee or....something from usb videocam or multiplexing  composite video and tx are both interesting  me right now.

I've already designed MUX /DEMUX interfaces, only not in the air, transmitted through a 5.8ghz TX/RX solution as I'm not sure the bandwith is sufficient.

Usually datasheet roughly give 8mhz bandwith for 5.8ghz while analog pal or NTSC are around 4mhz...

but I'd like to find someone who has done it before in order not to just burn money and time but rather buy another TX/RX setup....

All advises taken.

Regards and thanks,

Greg

  • I am currently looking into a similar set up. static FPV cam for pilot and 2nd channel to preview a 5dmkii or panasonic gh2 controlled by a 2nd cameraman. Would also like to hear any input on this topic.
