After a litlle crash, my USB was detached from the IMU, and probably with no solution because it seems to me that the little cooper paths are also damaged. My question is if I can use the FTDI instead USB? it will work with Arduino software or the confugurator? in other words, can the FTDI cable assume the same functions and software than USB?

Thanks again Darren. Loocking your picture, my mean corncern is that with this scheme, we are feeding also the FTDI chip in the IMU, so we will have two FTDIs chips.... ¿does anybody know if it will be a real problem?
Darren please, could you explain tome how to use the ftdi cable instead USB? I am completely desperate. I will try to take a picture but I am sure I can not repair it.
Yes, I think that will work the same. I'm not quite sure how you can get the FTDI pins when the shield is one, but maybe there's some way with right-angle pins.

I have been using FTDI port on my test IMUs without any problem. I just soldered pins to IMU board and connected my FTDI cable on it.
