which 4 in 1 esc is usable with the pixhawk

Hello all,

New member here, I am in the process of assembling a 2014 3dr quadcopter, and if I use the included PM, PDB and the four individual ESC, wow what wiring nightmare to an already messy wiring of the existing modules and the pixhawk. So I thought I would use a 4 in 1 ESC. I contacted 3dr trying to purchase the one as used in the IRIS, with no luck. Is there an existing aftermarket 4 in 1 20A. ESC with BEC that is compatable with the Pixhawk? anyone tried any of the following ESC's with success?

1. EMAX 4 in 1 25A w/ubec ESC

2. HOBBYWING Skywalker Quattro 20A x 4 4-in-1 Speed Control for Quadcopters

3. HOBBYKING Q Brain 4 x 20A Brushless Quadcopter ESC 2-4S 3A SBEC

4. WITESPY '4 in 1' - B-20A Ice Blue series OPTO SimonK-(RapidESC)

Regards,

MAC

  • Fnoop,

    good evening to

    Looks very pleasant.

I suppose that the appropriate wiring/plugs between this device and the APM or the pixhawk is included in the package.

    bests regards

  • @DG the bigger new hobbywing 4in1 also supports apm voltage/current monitoring and looks fantastic, but can't find it for sale anywhere:

  • DG,

good evening (23.15 PM in France).

    Thanks for your interest.

I prefer the BG one, because he has no BEC. So i will need, I will take advantage to, using the BG current sensor. With the advantage of wire and plug already ready for the Pixhawk.

Thanks for reading and overall answering

    bests regards

  • I use HobbyWing 25A Quattro on two quadcopters, then flashed with BLHeli. They work excellent, no problems, hundreds of flights.

They also have a new product:

    @ ZaPf

Chronologically i received  4x1806 2600 Kv one week before the ESC, which were 4 ESC Afro 12 amp from HK EU.

I decided to check my motors using old ESC Plush 18 amp. Each attempt to make run my motors end as a failure.

Using another old ESC 18 amp simonk, i succeed to make run each motor separately.

That's why i ask all these earliers questions.

purposes using a 4 in 1 ESC instead of one on each arm are 1) less weight. 2) less clutter on each arm overall for a 250.

I apologize for my bad english.

    Many thanks once more

    Good afternoon everybody

I am very interested in the subject treated here.

Two questions : 1) which one is suitable for 2600 kv motors (i have had problems using a none SimonK esc with this kind of motor). 2) most of them appears to have a bec giving 5V and 3 amp such as do this one : APM 2.6 2.5 2.52 Power Module With 5.3V DC BEC. You can find it here : http://www.banggood.com/APM-2_6-2_5-2_52-Power-Module-With-5_3V-DC-.... So, please can i use this bec instead of the banggood one, that you can sometime find in a combo.

Thanks for reading, and answering to.

    best regard.

this subject is a little bit "old"

may be i will have to create a new one if nobody answers.

  • Does anyone know the weight of the 3DR Quad frame kit?

  • I have a OctoQuad using two Skywalker Quattro 25A x 4 ESCs. CHeck out my test flight using them at http://diydrones.com/video/x8-test-flight-06-30-2104.

Ran it for 12 minutes and really saw no real heating issues with the ESCs.
