Hey All.
So after much flying of a cheapo RC i think i am now ready to embark on my drone adventure.
I am trying to build a research drone that would preferably have over an hours flight time.
I have been looking at the sky-eye from hobbyking as a base platform (big wingspan is better for the high altitude, high temp flying conditions here in johannesburg)
I would like to try and find out what a good wing loading is for a UAV
Sky eye wing loading | |||
Unloaded Weight: | 1350 | ||
Battery weight | 375 | ||
Camera weight | 270 | ||
Ardupilot +IMU+GPS | 470 | ||
Total weight | 2465 | ||
Wing Area: | 4630 | cm2 | |
Wing Loading: | 0.532397 | g/cm2 |
Is 0.53 g/cm2 a high number?

The wing loading is usually expressed in g per sq dm.
