Yaw compass drift pixhawk, 3.2 fw

Flying quad fine until yesterday!

Compass is calibrated and working correctly!

In stabilize mode can manually yaw fine! stop manually maintaining a heading and the quad slowly yaws (turns). Obviously it also effects alt hold and loiter, to make them unusable

Any ideas?

  • Are you sure your yaw stick is centred and not trimmed.

Posting a dataflash log will help diagnose it.

    • Here is the last files from a vibration test, ie hover in stabilize mode.

      Vib levels within tolerance

Have recalibrated compass, is reading correctly in MP

No trims on tx, nothing changed (that I'm aware of) since good previous flights few days ago.

Its as if the magnetometer is just switched off

BTW what parameter in the logs refer to the compass?

      Here are the last logs

      • will take a look. Check for mag for compass

        • OK

You don't have mag logs enabled so can't check them. Maybe enable Mag, and the RC in and outs too as there are handy for diagnosing certain yaw issues.

You z accel vibs are actually quite large.

Your yaw angle isn't super tightly controlled and wandering around des yaw a bit. I would try and reduce vibes though before tuning yaw up.

Was it yaw drifting in that flight the file relates to? It doesn't look like its wandering. Maybe your compass swiched off theory is true! If its only using gyros it may drift, but not show in the log.

Enable mag logs and check, you can also look in the status windo when connected live to see the mag readings live.
