I've been fascinated with Y6 designs for years and have been wanting to craft my own but never had the finances to do so. FInally came into some extra cashflow and want to put it towards a drone. I just became FAA certified and have been doing this commercially as a side hustle in tourism. OK got a new SJ4000 and through it in my Tarot 2d and attached it to my Phantom for testing. Awesome camera and the gimble is now tuned for the SJ4K. Looks like a good combination for the Y6
DG, the motors are Turnigy Multistar 2216 800. The ESC's are Turnigy Multistar 20 Amp Multi-rotor Brushless ESC 2-4s ( Opto ) I'm running a uBec power direct from the PDB. Motors are green along with the esc's so the antenna mast and the compass/gps went green. Gives it some Attitude and at the field it gets second looks.

Thought it looked cool an gave the Y6 attitude. I also found a compass/gps mast as I wanted the compass off the top. Unfortunately for me. I marred my wife's kitchen table ( dog house for a week but fixed now ) so I designed some booties for the legs. No more dog house for me. One thing I did do was solder my UBec to the PDB and have second thoughts on that but it works. Other than that, straight forward build and I've never build one until this one.
@Guy & @Stop, which antennas are you using the 3D printed mount (Y mount) for? Receiver, telemetry or video? I received part of the shipment today for my Y6 (battery, FPV gear, video switcher for the 2 cameras I plan to mount), but the kit itself is still not here... Cant wait to get started on it! I already 3D Printed a base for the sonar, by the way, and I REALLY like the look of that antenna mount!
Guy, what motors are those? Obviously not 3DR.
Also, I have that exact 3d printed antenna mount for my x6r.
Ah! got my props today almost ready just waiting now for the Trannis to arrive. Should be tomorrow if they get it out of PHX tonight.

Sounds like you're on your way now! I don't know if your aware of this but I found the wiki for APM PLanner 2.0 after a bit of digging. Here is a link, hope this helps.

Last question turned out to be accidentally using a different cable (my guess is this one was missing a pin) so solved that problem.
And when I enter the config/tunning tab in APM planner i can see a list of Standard Params, with many different parameters and number values and when searching "frame" in the filter tab the frame type param came up as Y6B selected in the scroll down tab, so I'm guessing this is correct and I'm now switched over?
