APM 2.6-2013 Quad RTF Original APM Firmware

My 2013 RTF 3drobotics 2013 quad does not seem to recognize spline waypoints. The APM 2.6 has the original firmware, is this the problem.

The quad recognizes the take off and climbs to altitude and just hovers, have to go back to manual to retrieve quad.

Any comments?

    Yes, you need to update to the latest firmware to take advantage of spline waypoints.

      Thanks John,

      I had attempted in the past to use Mission Planner, but it failed to update. I notice others have had same problem in the past and suggested using custom download, but another mentioned need to be sure have the right "hex".  Not sure of all that.

      I also have concern that I now settings on quad where I want them, will I lose those if I update firmware or will settings remain and if not, what do I save to restore to original.
