Hello,

For a long time I noticed an issue in mission planner related to the wrong battery voltage measurement and display and also the issue to enter a value with a decimal in the low_volt parameter:

Here is a picture of the display in mission planner showing a voltage of 13,37 V and 59% remaining when in reality the battery is at 13,87V.

I have configured the battery monitor for a 3DR PM, voltage and current. My battery is a 4500Mah and this is also configured in battery capacity (4S).

Also the 59% is folkloric as I set the battery monitor and low_volt at 13,5V. So it should indicate empty and not 59%.

Now on the issue of entering a decimal value in low_volt : it is impossile to enter it via the standard param screen. As shown here:

It shows 135 instead of 13,5. I tried everything with a point instead of a semicolom but it just does not work.

The only way to enter a value is a integer (13 or 14) which is a pain.

Last but not least with this value of 13,37V the quad should have entered failsafe which it did not (stabilize mode remains as shown on picture).

Has anyone else had these issues (latest version of MP although I saw this a long time already on all versions) ?

  • I was recently flying and the percent battery% indicator quickly dropped while the hex was on the ground to near 0%. The voltage is also way lower than what it is in reality. I am a newb so I assumed I was doing something wrong but maybe not.

  • I might help you on the battery %.

In MP you set the Amp capacity of the battery, and IF you have a current measuring unit, it will measure current drawn from the battery during a flight, and in your case, once you have drawn 4500mA total, it will show 0%
