Quad motors jump to near full throttle

Gents,

All ESCs have been calibrated and motors run up smoothly with the throttle through the entire range when connected directly to the receiver.  When connected to APM 2.5, motors jump to near full speed with little throttle input.  THR_MIN is set to zero.  Any thoughts?

  • Just a shot in the dark but it sounds like to me you have incorrect min/max settings in your APM.  Similar to how the XAircraft ESCs were UltraPWM which had a 200-1000 pulse range where standard ESCs may ues 1000-2000.  So when plugging those UltraPWM escs into a regular FC, it would set the ESCs to 1000us at min which essentially was FULL THROTTLE when you plugged in the battery!

    Sounds like your throttle channel is reversed. Try reversing it on the TX, and then calibrate your RC (via the MP) and your ESCs again.
