Drone flying to non visible point
Hi there,I encountered a problem, while flying in auto mode, with approching to point that was not set by trajectory and is not visible after downloading mission from flight controller by Mission Planner. Does anybody encountered similar problem. The situation is that in the middle flight I stopped the UAV and uploaded new mission and after changing to auto mode it starts to fly in some direction. It goes straight to some point, so I assume it's not mechanical problem. I attached the link to…

Excellent APM 2.5 Tutorials & Discussion Thread (for the new guys...and old farts too!)
There is something for everyone here http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2021896
Nice little talk by the Roswell Flight dudes in Portland. Good tutorial for those interested in what all this 'drone' stuff really is. They actually plug ArduCopter/3DR in their talk in favor over DJI. KOOL! Hope you enjoy.

Added Led lights from My local AutoZone a bit more pricey than ordering Led strips but they are water proof and they have black PCB instead of brown...
Reply to +David Pawlak. Assuming your bought the RTF, your three position switch defaults to Stabilize, Loiter and RTL. You can reconfigure these in Mission Planner if you like. You will need to reprogram your radio to add the ability to select more flight modes from the Transmitter switches. This link will help if you got the Spektrum DX7s. I strongly recommend that you check and tighten all airframe screws! The X8 is mostly RTF, but it will be a lot easier to control if you perform compass and accelerometer calibration. Remember to select APM with external compass. I also suggest manual setting of your magnetic declination. I really like my X8 and get flight times of 16 mins or more with a 3S 6 amp 20C Lipo.
I am receiving my X8 today, and I need to know how to piece together the information I need.
Latest stable version, modes of operation, troubleshooting etc. I have a PixHawk, I suppose modes of operation are similar, channel asignments etc.
How do I make my apm 2.5 quad a bit more responsive in stabilize mode? its a little sluggish kinda slow, I want a little faster foreword flight.also is it normal for the quad copter too loose a lot of altitude during foreword flight? whats a good takeoff weight for a dji 450 clone? running a Zippy 4500 may compact lipo , takeoff weight is at 1245g
Hello All, i am looking for more details on Scripting Missions in Mission Planner and Andropilot, can anyone point me in the right direction for the specifics on python for Mission planner? thanks in advance
Marc, if you're completely new to flying quadrotors, I'd strongly suggest you start by learning to fly one of the small ready-to-fly aircraft on the market, e.g. Traxxas QR1 or similar. Multirotors are typically more stable than conventional helicopters, but "more stable" doesn't mean "flies hands-off out of the box", and you'll spend quite a bit of time bouncing off things (and replacing props) until you learn how to hold a stable hover, how to determine aircraft orientation, and so forth. It's cheap insurance, and prop strikes from one of those hurt a great deal less than prop strikes from a 450mm quad.
