Hi and thanks in advance to anyone who can assist.

Kit will be going into a RC boat but will use Ardurover and is currently mounted on a plank.

Kit is 3DR PixHAwk, 3DR Ublox GPS, 3DR radio, Spektrum satellite Rx, mission planner 1.3.21 Ardurover 2.49.

I only got the kit last week so am a real newbie - sorry.

Most things are working well and as expected but I can only arm/disarm using the safety switch connected to the Pixhawk.

In Mission planner when I click on Arm/Disarm I get a popup with Error: command rejected by MAV.

If I'm being stupid and this shouldn't work then pls let me know. Also if its a known bug pls let me know. I will then move on and adjust my thinking.

If it should work then if someone could give me a helping hand to diagnose/resolve the issue then I'd be really grateful. I have Googled and done forum searches but can't find a resolution. I'm a real newbie so it could be something obvious/stupid which I'm not yet aware of.

Really appreciate any help offered.

Many thanks - Tony

  • Did you ever find out if APM 2.6 is able to arm? My rover can steer but won't drive.

Hello. I've searched but cannot locate an answer. I'm using APM 2.6 and Rover 2.5. After my 150lb rover almost rolled through my living room wall I'd like to enable arming :) Arming_required doesn't appear to be in the param list and the only info I can confirm is that arming is supported in Rover 3.0 (Pixhawk only?).  Can anyone confirm which version of Rover supports arming for APM? Thanks.

Hi Tony.  Rover doesn't support Arm/Disarm at the moment.  Only the safety switch.  Generally speaking arm/disarm is used for added safety when spinning propellers are involved like planes, heli's and mutlirotors.  Not a problem for Rovers.  However, the rover code also support boats which do have propellers and in some scenarios could benefit from having the arm/disarm function so its on the todo list to be implemented at some stage.

    Thanks, Grant.

    • Very many thanks Grant - I really appreciate your response, it makes perfect sense. Thank-you for putting my mind at rest - I'll move on and it certainly won't stop progress at this end. Thanks again - Tony.
