Trouble with Throttle channel in MP

I'm getting back to my APM 2.5 after a long break with other hobbies.

I have a Traxxas Summit with the APM mounted on an ABS platform, using the Power module (jumper removed.)

I'm using a Futaba T9CHP radio with Dragonlink V2, APM 2.5 w/ LEA6 external GPS, MP 1.3.29 and 915 MHz telemetry.

I have the APM wired as per the WIKI diagram:

RCRX       APM Input           APM Output

1                1                           1 to Steering

2                3                           3 to Throttle

5                8

6                7

I use the Right side gimbal on the Futaba for control.  Channel 1 for Steering and Channel 2 for Throttle.

I uploaded Rover Firmware 2.49 with no problems, then connected the telemetry to verifyt it works.

While doing the Radio Calibration I see that Channel 1 on the Futaba (RH gimbal side to side joystick) makes the ROLL bar move.

However, Channel 2 on the Futaba (RH gimbal up-down joystick) makes the YAW bar on MP move.  I "Reset to Default" on the FULL PARAMETER LIST page in MP just to make sure I was starting from scratch.

Testing the Summit in my garage, it responds correctly to the joystick.  It just doesn't show correct in MP when doing Radio Calibration.

Will this be a problem when I take the Summit out this weekend for a first attempt to follow a flight plan?

I had it working before with a Traxxas Stampede last year and I don't remember having this problem (several others, but not this one.)

  • 1.3.28 worked. Thank you TCIII

I looked for a version history to try to figure out what changed to cause that problem but found nothing.  Will that be corrected in a future rev?

    @Falcon,

Try falling back to MP 1.3.28 to correct your issue.

  • I think this is the correct file.  There were four created for each dataflash log

Could you please upload a dataflash log as that will help investigations.

It sounds like the mapping in MP is incorrect but I'm not a MP expert - perhaps someone else here is.  If the Summit is behaving correctly then I'm gunna say that's the most important thing :-)

    Thanks, Grant.
