No heartbeat packets received/ PIXHAWK

I have a pixhawk board, I could upload AC3.2 firmware but then I can't connect the board to the mission planner. I tried different things: connect/disconnect GPS/compass module, tried on different USB port, even tried with separate power module but in the end all ended with no heartbeat packets received error message. I don't know what to do further.

Please help if anyone can tell me what to do.

  • What version of Mission Planner are you using.

I have MP on my Windows 10 laptop and an old Windows Vista desktop.

Yesterday I upgraded the laptop to Mission Planner v 1.3.38 Build 1.1.5983.12141.

My laptop will not connect to my Pixhawk, but it will connect to my APM 2.6.

My desktop has not been upgraded and it will connect to both the APM and the Pixhawk.

To fix this I just went here:  http://ardupilot.com/downloads/?did=82 and downloaded the Windows installer.

I just did a test.  DO NOT USE THE AUTOMATIC UPDATE!  IT IS 2 FOR 2 AT BREAKING THE PIXHAWK USB DRIVER.

I did the automatic update on my desktop and it broke the Pixhawk USB driver.  I could connect but I was getting bad gyro and accelerometer health messages.

I used the windows installer and everything works now....

  • If you are running a Pixhawk you need to install AC 3.3.

When you try to make a USB connection you need to click on the COM port drop down and make sure you see PX4 FMU and a COM port number.  The Baud rate should be 152000.

You need to do the same thing for the telemetry radio.  You should see Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART and a COM port number.  The baud rate is 57600.

  • So does it work with any firmware version.  What lights do have on the unit?  Do you have the baud rate set to 57600?

    • Unfortunately it's not working with other firmwares.

It starts with 2 green blinks for some time  then it stops.

I tried different baud rates and still no positive results.
