Bart Theys commented on Hugues's blog post 3" sub 250 Arducopter microdrone - 28 minutes flight time !
"That's amazing! Nice build! Are you going to sell them? "

Bart Theys commented on Echo G's blog post Thinking about designing multirotors to optimizing flight time
"the efficiency of your propeller will not change if you take another motor, it will be the motor + ESC combination that will not have the same efficiency depending on the esc+mot+propeller combination. Propeller efficiency in hover is characterized…"

Bart Theys commented on Charles Blouin's blog post Crowfunding Update, Four Years Later
"Nice overview and indeed quite some companies who are still around. Also check "Quadshot" on kickstarter, now "transition robotics" and ComQuest Ventures Vertex, to name some."

Bart Theys commented on Charles Blouin's blog post Challenges in Designing a User-Contributed Motor and Propeller Database
"@Maxence, some years ago I did a limited set of tests to measure the influence of configuration, arm shape, push-pull and documented it in this paper.
There will always be a difference between the measured values on a bench with what we get when…"

Bart Theys commented on Hugues's blog post Make your own Li-Ion battery pack
"Where did you buy the cells? Looks like the solder is not flowing very happily :) . If a stronger soldering iron doesn't work you can try sanding the spots you wish to solder with a fine grain sandpaper first, this works good for me. "

Bart Theys commented on Bart Theys's blog post Meet CargoCopter: our latest generation of high-speed, long-range drones
"Hi Rob, I recently read some very success story about you too (congratz!). The large one on the picture and the video has a payload space of > 6 liters but the propulsion system currently installed is not meant for a 5kg payload. 5kg is possible…"

Bart Theys commented on Bart Theys's blog post Meet CargoCopter: our latest generation of high-speed, long-range drones
"We are using ArduCopter, running on a Pixhawk with some customized code for the transition. We mainly focused on the design and were very happy that we didn't have to start from scratch for the flight controller. However, our adaptations for the…"

Bart Theys posted a blog post
At KU Leuven we have been developing a new generation of drones to double the speed and range of conventional multi-rotor drones. For quite some years already, multi-rotor drones are the preferred type of drone for typically applications such as…

Bart Theys commented on Bart Theys's blog post Which one has the highest range: VTOL, helicopter, multi-rotor (or flying squirrel?)
"@ Rob, you are completely right concerning flight time. However, will multi-rotors or helicopter that are designed for maximum flight time (with low disk loadings and the corresponding control issues), also have the highest range? From my test data,…"

Bart Theys commented on Bart Theys's blog post Which one has the highest range: VTOL, helicopter, multi-rotor (or flying squirrel?)
"@ Auturgy: What is the link with stability that you are thinking of? Also, I agree that the real glide ratio, as in: how far can you glide with power of, is <1 but what I show in the article is the theoretical L/D ratio. It is a measure for the…"
