The behaviour described above, occurs ONLY when I use version 1.8.2 for ArduIMU.
 
When I use Version 1.7 for the ArduIMU, I never get a GPS lock, but I get STABILIZE mode working properly...

"As far as I know, it will just start over again.

If you want to fly the same mission multiple times, then, after the mission is done, you have to briefly switch to manual and then again to AUTO.
