Frank Vitale replied to Randy's discussion Copter-3.3 beta testing
"I am needing some advice. I had to do a hard restart of my laptop and when downloading Mission Planner,i ran into a problem that needs some clarification. When downloading, the driver download failed on laser navigation, but would still let me finish…"

Frank Vitale replied to Konstantin Romanov's discussion Voltage vs capacity failsafe (especially in cold weather)
"I believe 10.5 is a good number for a few reasons. Mainly you have voltage sag.Your main issue i believe is the temp. Even though you warmed your batt up,,-15 is COLD!!!!!!! In 30 degrees you get a 20 percent plus loss of flight time. -15,i would…"

Frank Vitale replied to Michael Tietze's discussion Ext. Compass live view Mission planner Problem
"in mission planner----compass cal, up at top you will see choices---Pixhawk/px4---apm 2.5(internal compass--and apm(external compass)  just press the one you have, and it will automatically set all of those things for you. Hope this helps. As long as…"

Frank Vitale replied to Staq Koenig's discussion All motors stop suddenly with Pixhawk
"This is correct. If on your desk you arm and try to pitch or roll,,the copter MUST pitch or roll proportionately. If the copters lean angle DOES not match your stick movement within a couple degrees, it will result in CRASH DISARM,and all will stop.…"

Frank Vitale replied to Brit Davis's discussion Help with Err: FS_Batt-1 and FS_Radio-1
"I never usually step in,BUT, you were the one trying to educate him as well as being condescending. Pedals is actually correct here.Mechanical failures, electronic failures, and flight controller errors happen ALL the time. Throt,Batt,Failsafes are…"

Frank Vitale replied to Randy's discussion AC-3.1 autotune support discussion
"Well, success!! Because my escs are hardwired, I just moved my props around one spot. Not only throttied high-low, also as I was doing that, I would inject pitch roll very rapidly. No sync issues. Then went out for autotune. Worked flawlessly. I…"

Frank Vitale replied to Randy's discussion AC-3.1 autotune support discussion
"yes, I figured it was the large 18 inch carbon fiber props with the locating the weight of the props would cause the issue"

Frank Vitale replied to Randy's discussion AC-3.1 autotune support discussion
"I'm thinking just swapping two wires won't have full effect, as the props just spinning backwards won't have the same thrust. I will turn them upside down and move them in one direction around like compassmot. Then I will replicate full thrust."

Frank Vitale replied to Randy's discussion AC-3.1 autotune support discussion
"Thank you Lenard, I will. Pretty big, I think I'll strap it down first. I will post back on my findings. Frank."

Frank Vitale replied to Randy's discussion AC-3.1 autotune support discussion
"LENARD, Thank you for the response. With props off, I did high low throttle changes with no sync issues. Was just wondering with the large, heavy 18in carbon props,if that would exacerbate the issue.. Frank."

Frank Vitale replied to Randy's discussion AC-3.1 autotune support discussion
"Already had vibe issues. On first flghts, stabilize flights were good until I went to post hold, and it would just land. Balanced props, and all went well. ."

Frank Vitale replied to Frank Vitale's discussion Autotune
"Thanks for the response Craig. Yea, that is also what I have experienced as well. Also would like to help resolve the question as well. If I could get a response from Lenard, that would sure help. If not maybe we can shed some light on this.…"

Frank Vitale replied to Frank Vitale's discussion Autotune
"My defaults did NOT work so well. I had to tune. Having said that,It flys well, but would like to get it dialed in better. Auto tune has mostly done an awesome job for me. Also, have heard that sync issues are not present in the newer versions 3.3 +  …"
