Hello everyone!

I have posted several times information about our 3-axis gyro-stabilized gimbals, but this time we decided to release a short video with close up review and actual footage from the gimbal itself. USG-301 is one of the most popular products from our line of gimbals. It features state of the art Full HD Sony sensor with 30x optical zoom. Comparing to previous versions of our gimbal we have greatly improved gyro-stabilization, which made the image even better looking and also added onboard video recording and ability to take still images on SD card. Those two features were asked many times by our clients and partners who are involved in drone inspections, agriculture and other industrial drone applications. In addition, we have tested the gimbal on other than DJI multirotor drones. Great example is our work with UAV America's Eagle XF drone, which you can see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxpbNVNCqS4 We have created custom mounting plate, so the gimbal perfectly fits the airframe.

Right now we are working with other drone manufacturers to integrate our payloads and very soon we will show the results of our work. With the price much less than 7k and taking in account all advantages of our USG-301 we think that we have a great opportunity to work with many drone manufacturers around the world. If you are a drone manufacturer or using drones for your business and looking for a reliable and affordable camera payload feel free to reach us to discuss how we can work together.

Fixed-wing UAV launch from car top

Hello everyone!

For the past few months we were looking for a more convenient way to launch our PD-1 fixed-wing UAV (MTOW is 40 kg). Since runway takeoff and landing requires pretty serious and long training for the operator and any pneumatic launchers that will work with our UAV are expensive (from $30000 USD (actually we couldn't find anything less than $50k)) we decided to look for alternatives. Car top launch was one of those alternatives. We quickly developed a test unit and ran a few tests. So far we already have some statistics and pretty sure that it can be a good alternative to expensive pneumatic launchers in some civil applications with tight budget. Let me know your opinion on this. Do you think such way to launch a UAV could be an option?

Drones for industrial apliacations

When we started to work on our gimbals we focused to create a solution for commercial and industrial applications. As a drone platform we always give preference to bigger drones with 6 or 8 motors, which have a few advantages comparing to their smaller «brothers».

First of all in most cases they can stay in the air for longer period of time, which may be critical for some tasks.

Secondly, they are more stable in different weather conditions and more reliable, even if one motor is failed there are pretty high chances to land the drone safely. I personally witnessed such situation.

And thirdly, they can lift heavier payloads, which allows to install dual sensor payloads. In our gimbals we install Full HD day-view camera with 30x optical zoom and thermal camera. Zoom feature allows drone operator to keep certain distance from the inspection target to keep operational risks at minimum. Dual sensor setup allows to collect more information during the flight and provides more footage to work with in the future.

In addition, our gimbals can be controlled from separate remote controls allowing drone operator and payload operator to focus on their tasks to ensure mission success.

PD-1 fixed-wing airframe test

Hello Everyone!

Wanted to share with you guys a video of our 3.2 meters wingspan PD-1 airframe test. We did it quite some time ago, but I thought that it still may be interested. We do all kind of tests to our products and this is one of the final ones. Performed by professionals - don't try this at home! :D

Enjoy, comment, subscribe! :)

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to drop a quick note about our PD-1 UAS and of course to hear your opinion about it. As some of you may already know we are a Ukrainian-based company that develop and produce our own UAV systems and payload. We've been working for a while to develop and start a mass production of our own airframe and payloads. And after that spent even more time trying to put it all together. Please welcome new player on UAV arena - PD-1 Unmanned Aerial System

PD-1 UAV is a fixed-wing 3 meter wing-span unmanned arial vehicle. It is equipped with gyro-stabilized gimbal with EO and IR sensors and photo camera for aerial photo mapping. There is still enough space for additional payloads, such as radio repeater, LIDAR or any other custom options.

One of our achievements is that PD-1 UAS is currently on service in Ukrainian Army. It is positively rated by officials and it has spent hundreds of hours in actual military operation. Our UAVs were operated in conditions where GPS/Glonass and control signals were jammed by Electronic Warfare Systems and still successfully completed their missions. Based on our experience and feedback from military operators we continuously improve our unmanned aerial system and add new features.

PD-1 is capable of staying in the air for more then 5 hours with maximum payload and fuel capacity. This is while using regular 2-stoke engine without any modifications. We can greatly extend flight time if we add on-board generator and Electronic Fuel Injection. Service celling is 2000 meters. Telemetry datalink works for 85+ km and send all information to the ground. Including fuel level, engine temperature, outside temperature, battery status, etc. We develop whole sensor system from scratch to ensure that operator has all information from the UAV. Real-time Full HD video reception works in 50 km range. PD-1 UAV can stream video to multiple GCS or portable terminals. This means that different groups of people/operators can receive video and other information from UAV in real-time.

USG-212 gimbal is equipped with Full HD Sony sensor with 30 x optical zoom. Which allows it to be operated on altitudes above 1000 meters and easily detect objects. Thermal camera allow to use gimbal during night time or low visibility conditions. USG-212 can be installed not only on UAV, but also on helicopters or small manned aircrafts. Here is some video from USG-212 recorded on GCS. What is actually remarkable is that Ground Control Station that recorded this video was 37 kilometres away from the UAV, so it also shows the capabilities of our video link system.
That was only a few things that I wanted to share with you guys. And by the way PD-1 airframe itself is available for integrators and enthusiasts to develop their own projects. If you have any questions or there is anything more you'd like to know or see about our system please comment and we will share more information and content with you.

USG-301 gimbal with Sony Full HD camera

Hello everyone,

Here is another video of our USG-301 3-axis gyro-stibilized gimbal with integrated Sony EV7500 Full HD camera with 30x optical zoom. All camera features, such as anti-fog, electronic stabilization, colour enhancement, etc. could be controlled though our gimbal, you can easily assign any button on your RC to control those features. Video out is HD-SDI or HDMI, control signals are S.BUS or PPM, so it is compatible with Pixhawk, Autopilot and most of popular flight controllers out there on the market.

For this particular video we used Tarot frame multi-rotor drone with Amimon Connex video link and Blackmagic Video Assist monitor to record the footage. Enjoy. :)

Hello everyone. Long story short we are a small group of enthusiasts, who started to develop drones, payloads and accessories. Why we decided to do so? Because everything that were our there on the market was either too expensive or couldn’t satisfy our needs. We started with simple hobby equipment available online. Simple, but already tested before us. Because we needed to fulfil gap in number of drones really quickly we didn’t have enough time to jump in to the development of our own solution. Even though our first drones were not really good some of them are still operating after more then a year of service in really though conditions. About a year ago we started to develop of our own solutions. Right now we have a small UAV, a few gyro-stibilized platforms and a quadcopter. You can see all of them on our website www.ukrspecsystems.com. ;
One of the things that we made from scratch is our quadcopter named PC-1 (http://www.ukrspecsystems.com/products-view/quadcopter-pc-1/). Foldable frame with integrated two-axis gyro stabilized gimbal with 10x EO day-view camera. 30 minutes fly time and 5 km range. Not much to tell about it. Simple and reliable. We crashed it a few times during tests. It felt from about 30 meters multiple times and all damages were only to props and gimbals. Probably this particular drone just lucky or because of the foldable frame it observes the force from the impact. We made a short video to show how it work. Hope you guys enjoy. If you have any questions just write in comments. Thanks.
