Marcus Wolschon replied to Wayne Dancer's discussion Paparazzi Open-Source Autopilot
"As it's the second day that the wiki is down,
I asked the ccc-fr mailing-list what happened and if I can have
a copy of my page from the last backup.

A part of the info can be found at…"

Marcus Wolschon commented on jaron's blog post UAV Playground 1.2 - An approach to Unmanned Aerial Vehicles
"I would not change the license.
If anyone feels that he/she would not contribute under the LGPL-terms
then then that person can still build on your sources and publish his/her
modifications under the terms of the GPL.
Unless that actually happens…"

"This sounds very cool.
I may try this out for developing an autopilot in Java for my drone!
Please keep us updated on any progress you make. :)"

Marcus Wolschon replied to Wayne Dancer's discussion Paparazzi Open-Source Autopilot
"I'm confused myself.
Last week they mentioned on the gumstix-mailing-list that they where to announce the
board on friday, then postponed it to monday.
Not thats 2 days ago and nothing except the preview is online still.

Marcus Wolschon replied to Wayne Dancer's discussion Paparazzi Open-Source Autopilot
"As far as I know booz is a method of looping Paparazzi through flightgear as a simulation-environment.

I was and am quite busy with 2 other free software projects (the Traveling Salesman navigation-system
for OpenStreetMap and jGnucashLib) so my…"

Marcus Wolschon replied to Wayne Dancer's discussion Paparazzi Open-Source Autopilot
"You can find the (german) project-documentation on http://ccc-fr.de/index.php/Dronenbau .

I have a gumstix, 4-IR -board, 2-IR-board and a working airframe.
However I did not yet manage to solder the very tiny pitch of the I2C ADC I wanted to use.…"

Marcus Wolschon commented on rad man's blog post Short Range I.R. Radar
"I'm trying to work with an ultrasonic sensor that speaks I2C.
This should be much smaller and even have more range
then the IR-system.
Pro: It is independent of light and reflection -properties
Con: ...ultrasonic and dogs. Works inly in one…"

Marcus Wolschon commented on Chris Anderson's blog post GPS simulation with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004
"Now, an autopilot has more inputs then just GPS.
Is there a way to also get attitude and altitude-data
from MS-FlightSim to translate into fake-sensor-readings?"

Marcus Wolschon replied to Jason's discussion 5 Wire servo - help needed
"I have just seen a 4-wire servo.
The case was that the servo did not contain the electronics but that we have a single
board with receiver, servo-control and engine-control.
non-standard"

Marcus Wolschon commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Dean Goedde interview, part 3: All about IR sensing vs. gyros

Marcus Wolschon commented on Luke's blog post Flightgear telemetry app
"Cool, thanks for the code!
I'll try to use it to generate IR-sensor-readings for attitude-control and
and parse servo-data in return.
(Maybe make a script that used gpio-in and d2a + serial(for gps) to hook
it up physically to an autopilot.)"

Marcus Wolschon commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Dean Goedde interview, part 3: All about IR sensing vs. gyros
"I added a note about your findings on the 5V vs 3V on the FMA-sensor to the talk-page in the paparazzi-wiki
and made a comment for it on the mailing-list. Maybe
they switched parts or something.

BTW, that sensor is "out of stock" since eons on…"

Marcus Wolschon replied to Wayne Dancer's discussion Paparazzi Open-Source Autopilot
"I'm working with paparazzi.
The airborne was quite a step to learn but now it's working.
(I had to add not only a new airframe but a new build-target with different sensors.)
You can get it running on their arm7-based system, on…"

Marcus Wolschon replied to James Hall's discussion Great Resource for UAV Engineers
"Looks very US-centrin in the links.
For UAVs it is missing Paparazzi for fixed-wing and all the projects with quadcopter-designs that have come up."

Marcus Wolschon replied to James Hall's discussion Sonar ping return is all over the place!
"Looks much better.
Do you think it will be accurate enough for autonomous landing?
How quickly does the sensor react to changes in altitude, considering
the averaging required?"
