About Me:

I work with robotics and instrumentation.

Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

The R&D fascinates me. Much progress has been done over the years reading the threads. Have flown a few flights with FPV. My latest interest is a custom Quad using Arduino based control setup.

Martin Szymanski commented on Gisela & Joe Noci's blog post Some more Antennae, and when is a BALUN not a BALUN
"I use torroids today to choke emi and rfi as close to the GPS electronics as possible. Sometimes you will have them on ESC pwm leads from manufacturers as well. This helps isolate interference as a filter. Adding a capacitance can further filter out…"

Martin Szymanski commented on Gisela & Joe Noci's blog post Some more Antennae, and when is a BALUN not a BALUN
"As Walter Maxwell stated in the book Reflections the I 3 current can do funny things on a coax shield going up a tower using a directional antenna. There are current baluns and voltage baluns. For a 1 to 1 I use ferrite beads or wrap the coax. The…"

Thats neat."

Martin Szymanski replied to Randy's discussion ArduCopter-3.1 released!
"Just Downloaded 3.1.4  I will erase then align and calibrate fresh. Using the PixHawk I've found that it requires a 400 Hz refresh rate to the ESC's as a mandatory capability to be solid to control the motors with little latency :-) So far the build…"
