About Me:

I enjoy Microlight Trike Flying, recently moved from radio controlled planes to Multi-Blade Drones. Age 60 as of this year!! but retired and have a lot of free time for my hobbies. I am in South Carolina and love the Weather. Originally from the Buffalo NY area. Have 6 wonderful Grandchildren who keep me on my toes and feeling young.

Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest

Started with the AR Drone and went through almost every mod from extending Wi-Fi, Modified one of them to work directly with a Radio Controller allowing it line of sight control. Also started using Qgroundcontrol and will be doing some Alpha and Beta testing on a similar software

I am looking for an inexpensive multi-rotor that can have telemetry and work with mission planner or similar program.  I was told that Cheerson and Walkera have a model that will work.  If anyone could guide me or help I would be very thankful. …

"One is being sent to test,  the most exciting part is the Autonomous flight.  it will attract as many or more people as the AR. Drone.  They have a unique way of promoting and advertising which has worked in the past.   We will see?"

"What is the largest size battery that will fit in the Iris?  I was told 25mm max on the height,  mine is in for repair so I don't have it to measure.  Would a 27.5mm high work?  "

"Flight in general changes between cold and warm temperatures.  it has to do with the density of the air.  So that could increase or decrease your flight time somewhat.  As for the battery the LiPo likes to be kept cool.  Heat is not good for it. …"
