"It is expensive... but it's really good...

it's used on the UAV research projects @ my university..."

"Hi daniel,

I think the new GPS to be supported by DIY drones is this MediaTek with adapter...

it's really cheap and you only need the cable sold in the DIY drones store to connect it to your board"

"Does anyone recommend the combo "2. 900 MHz 200mW Tx/Rx & 1/3-inch CCD Camera" for a UGV? I use 2.4 GHz Xbee's and I don't need more than 1 Km range... In fact I probably only need 500 m."

"Matt,

I don't think simulink is the way to go to run it on embedded, probably the embedded code generation option is the best... I have the module, but I don't know how to use it... a coworker here uses it for HVAC control, so I can ask him about…"

On the page I saw a recommended video transmitter, but what about the receiver?"

I'm glad you're getting good results with matlab! Keep me posted about your results...

"Matt,

Thanks for the explanation, I truly misunderstood what you meant on the first post.

Of course the parameter estimation has to be obtained from a Dynamic Response, I failed to specify what I was asking. What kind of test do you plan on…"

Raymundo Magana commented on Pete Hollands's blog post Demonstration of Adaptive Control
"Matthew,

It is a one time only calculation process since it's based on a long test. Normally a 1 or 2 hour test is used to feed the system and calculate the parameters. This aproach reduces drastically the impact of individual datapoints.…"

Raymundo Magana commented on Jordi Muñoz's blog post How to remove the High Pass Filter from your ArduIMU and Razor boards.
"I don't remember wheter the HP reset works on the 6DOF razor, but I'm almost certain that they chose the 4X because the 1X had a range too big, thus choosing 4X gives you better resolution in the range that we want to measure..."

Raymundo Magana commented on Jordi Muñoz's blog post How to remove the High Pass Filter from your ArduIMU and Razor boards.
"There is no logic to make that selection, if you are making your own PCB what you should do to use the 4X outputs is simply conect the 1X outputs (after the corresponding filters) to an input described on the datasheet... just RTM :P...

If you are…"

Thanks a lot for your quick response and your answers, I'll continue reading the data sheet to understand better the ADC requirements.

Thanks also for the tips,

The algorithm is really not that complicated, it's based on the classic recursive aproach of the minimum square roots identification algorithm. The only problem I could forsee is that a fairly random noise signal must be used to…"

"@Ryan - Just turning the gains up it's not really a good idea. The PID's are designed to control a linear system, and when the blade breaks up the system changes completely. Besides, when you turn the gains up the noise from the IMU would make your…"
