Rick Stewart replied to Leluoch kart's discussion APM high speed >=1mach ?
"I think you should use some different hardware for this project.  I doubt the APM would be a good choice for something moving that fast.

Rick Stewart replied to Leluoch kart's discussion APM high speed >=1mach ?
"In theory that would be the maximum that GPS would support which is 515m/s but the devs would know better then I.

Rick Stewart commented on Scott Berfield's blog post Gimbal support on APM - dead easy
"Is there any way I can increase the range of the gimbal or add a multiply factor so I get a greater range of rotation?  I have messed around with the min and max values, so I know the servo is capable of rotating in a much larger range, the problem…"

Rick Stewart replied to Jason's discussion 2 Cell 7volt 5000mah battery work for my quad?
"No these will not work for a quad, you need at least an 11.1 battery for flight with those motors and props.\

Rick Stewart replied to Randy's discussion ArduCopter 2.7.2/2.7.3 released
"Congrats to the Dev Team on this release!  I spent a hr testing it on a XAircraft DIY Hexa, really positive results.

Rick Stewart replied to Brian McGrath's discussion Digital Servos and APM2
"I have used digital servos connected to the apm2 via the camera gimbal tilt, and roll connections.  They work quite well, you hear them fidget allot but that is the constant updating from the APM2.  Unfortunately I cannot comment on anything else…"

Rick Stewart replied to Michael Müller's discussion Backup battery on APM2s GPS
"Please excuse my ignorance, perhaps I am not seeing the problems you are but wouldn't a simpler / safer solution, what that doesn't include cutting traces and messing with the APM include just powering the APM separately?  I use a 68 gram 1200mah 2s…"

Rick Stewart replied to x-air71's discussion xbee with Mavlink 1.0 in ArduCopter User Group
"So you have 2 modules.  Lets call them the Air, which is on the Hexa, and the ground module.  On the ground module do you have a green light when you power them both up?  If not they wont communicate, at least not in my experience.  When the green…"

I am looking at a way to visualize raw sensor data from the APM.  I know in the MP you can look at accelerometers, etc but I want to see magnetometer, optical flow, sonar etc.  Also, if anyone knows a place to find the undocumented MP keyboard…
