Why dosn't ArduPlane support LIDAR-Lite Rangefinder when using a ADP2.6 platform?

Does anyone know why ArduPlane 3.x does not support a LIDAR-Lite Rangefinder when using an ADP2.6 hardware platform? It states that only Pixhawk is suported.
