mquintilian commented on CrashingDutchman's blog post Project 'Volare' on Kickstarter
"Here's the build log http://scapeoflegends.com/pictures.php. It appears there actually building a scale model of a cargo transport jet....um yeah. Well at least they aren't asking for 180,000"

mquintilian commented on Chris Anderson's blog post Kickstarter project for a "Smart-Pod" UAV pod
"Why would you need 180,000$ to fund the production of 1000$ pieces of foam? It kinda makes me suspicious. There "ruggedized" airframe looks a radian pro.
What annoys me the most is the deliberate attempt to obscure commercial diy drones hardware."

mquintilian commented on Christiaan van Vollenstee's blog post The most silly yet serious protest
"1. If you watch the whole thing you'd realize it's not anti drone

2. 3DR robotics(DIY drones) agreed to be in this video.

3. Chris Anderson (founder and in the video) has posted it here himself saying it was a video that he liked."

It looks like there just generating a way point file  and triggering a servo when it reaches that way point like you would when you're using a camera"

mquintilian commented on Jason Short's blog post Arducopter 2.7 Auto-Flip
"hmm. I tried this today with my 3dr quad. It gained altitude correctly and slowly started rolling in the direction to start a flip but it never rolled hard enough for it to go past 90 degrees. Do I need to change some values?"

mquintilian commented on mquintilian's blog post Lesson learned: Always remove the propellers when testing!
"ouch, The hospital has these new things finger bandages ( I call them finger condoms for the lack of a better name) that have a plastic tape and two gauze "condoms" that wrap over. They seem to be doing very well at keeping stuff out of the cut.  …"

mquintilian posted a blog post
Stupidly I left the props on while preparing a demo of one of my kk quads. The board malfunctioned while disarmed, props shattered and sliced most of the pad of my pinky finger right off. It took a trip to the hospital and 13 stitches to get it back…

mquintilian commented on Ruwan's blog post FAA Reveals List of Colleges and Police Departments That Can Fly Drones
"Does this affect public high schools (specifically Canadian)? Unlike a university they're government funded so it falls under educational(teaching aid) use and not commercial?"

mquintilian commented on Mark Harrison's blog post iPhone/Android RC Controller
"I would not trust a touch screen controller on a plane  or a quad but the hardware looks interesting. They're also seems to be 6 channels but the app only supports 4. "

mquintilian commented on Chris Anderson's blog post How can the Syma toy copters be so stable with just one gyro??
"Doug is correct,
If you use a co-ax heli withough a gyro they are still quite stable but the yaw axis drifts even after trimming"
