  • Hi Shahram,

    Thanks for the message.

First I assume the 2 PC's are networked together. You will need to know each ones IP Address!! The 127.0.0.1 is only used when you have both x-plane and Mission Planer on the same PC.

In the Photo(4) I had X-plane 10 on a MacBook Pro and  Mission Planner 1.2.14 on a Win7 PC both wifi over my home network. HIL PlaneV2.65 on a APM2.0 connected via the USB cable to PC.

    * My X-plane, Settings, Net Connections, Data, IP for Data Output is 192.168.0.112 (My PC IP Address) 49005

UDP Ports are default. ie receive 49000, Send 49001

This page also mention the IP address of the Mac

    * My Mission Planner, Simulation, Advance IP Settings are, Sim PC 192.168.0.113 (Mac IP), Sim PC Port 49000, Planner PC Port 49005

    * I have the Show Roll, Pitch,Rudder & Throttle checked at the bottom of the simulation page. These give a good indication with whats going on.

    * I found it helpful to initially set X-plane to Location, Get Me Lost. and as the plane fell from the sky set the mode to Sabilize from MP and then play with the Reverse Roll, Pitch & Rudder check boxes on the Simulation tab until the plane stabilizes.

    I hope this helps

    Regards

    Warren

  • Hi Warren

i wonder if you could help me

I have been trying to do the same,as you did, in the last few days!, but just can not get the two applications to communicate with each other.

I have two laptops, Vaio with Windows 8 and a Lenovo with Windows Vista.

Ran X-plane on Windows 8 and Mission Planner on Vista.

could not get a dialogue between the two laptops so in order to isolate the problem, i installed both APM mission planner 1.2.35 mav 10 and X-Plane v10 on the Vaio.

still could not get them to talk to each other!!

I have followed the instructions on the following link:

     http://code.google.com/p/ardupilot-mega/wiki/Xplane

i have done everything asked, except below:

    could understand each line except:

    "

If you haven't done a setup already, press "APM Setup" on the Mission Planner Firmware page, which opens another dialog. Follow the instructions on the "Reset", "Radio Input" and "Mode" tabs of the dialog. Then you're ready to sim!

    "

I do not understand exactly since there is no such tabs with such exact text!?

anyway I am simulating a Quad as below:

    1- ran mission planner

2- Firmware tab, HIL Simulator, selected quad.

3- uploaded Arducopter V2.9.1 Quad HIL

4- Simulation tab, selected X-plane, X-plane 10 check box, Advanced IP, SIM PC IP 127.0.0.1, SIM PC port 49000, planner PC port 49005

5- pushed button SIM link start/stop

    6- ran X-plane 10

    7- selected quad

8- did all the settings according to the wiki link above

    still no communications!!??

this is while i am reading everybody else blog and they are enjoying flying in X-plane

    what am I doing wrong??!!

    can you please help?
