  • and sure each LED in each tape have to be controled individualy :-)

  • That was an amazing control of 100 pixels for a 3D image . wow!

Want a chalenge? Here it is:

What about to make 100 000 pixels. Not only with drones! Just attach a LED tape with 1000 LEDs each to 100 drones and you have 100 k pixels imediately - more than a resolution of 320 x 240 in the air !!

It just would be not easy to don't make accidend with these tapes.

  • Challenge accepted!

Count DBX Team in! Lets do it!

We can do 1000 with decent internet conection

  • @Randy what do you think? A global synchronized set of flights? Using open-source technology, no corporate sponsorship, only the DIY community. It's a great way to collaborate across open-source projects on an effort that seems fairly attainable. Saturday, June 25th, 2016. Whose in? http://loverobot.org

  • Anyone want to take a guess on how much money was spent to fly 100 aircraft?  I'll bet is was over $500K US(that's about $5K per copter).

My guess is that the DIY community could put up more than 1000 uav's globally using a heterogenous set of aircraft over internet connections for pennies on the dollar of this spectacle. How about a global DIY autonomous flight demonstration to show the power of the DIY/open-source community? If ever there was a time on this planet where people could coordinate their actions, the internet has facilitated that ability. What do you say DIY community? Let's set some global records.

  • Don't forget to add rovers in to that mix Randy. And boats. Let's go for it totally! Count me in.

That's really amazing.  25 vehicles per pilot (4 pilots).

I'd love to assist with any team attempting more than 100 with ardupilot.  We could add some spice by mixing planes and copters perhaps.

A small correction, I think the previous record was 50 (by the same team who did 30 a few months earlier).
