Hey everyone,
I'm sure most of you have heard about the techpod and the kickstarter campaign I just want to give one more shout out here for help. Its been a long journey getting to this day. I lot of you have been following and supporting the development of the techpod for years. The countless hours of designing, building and flying seem compressed into just a few moments. I know this will be a success heck I just got a $10,000 backer on Saturday. I think bigger things are on the way. I am going to have a very large amount of airplanes soon and I am going to need some help getting Techpods into peoples hands.I just want to take a moment and thank everyone who has supported the project .thanks to all the people who encouraged me through out the years. Thanks to everyone who help to get the word out. Thanks to all me friends and family who have surrounded me and made me strong. Thanks to Chris Anderson and the rest of the diydrones community for giving me a place to express myself and to learn and grow beyond what I thought was possible. Thanks to my wife for putting up with all my crazy ideas. And most of all Thanks to my mom the hardest working person I have ever met.
love you all!

can't wait either. It's kinda like flying a new design for the first time. you have done all the math, worked on it for endless hour, woke up restless nights thinking about it, now its time to throw your baby in the sky and hit the gas! will it fly? you will know soon enough. As for everything it's all systems go!

Thank you Wayne for all of the effort you have invested in this project.
Can't wait to get mine!
Wayne, from my experience, the Chinese companies seldom make copies, without some kind of improvement to the original design. So there's no guarantee that they won't put out something better at a lower price. But, reading from your Kickstarter description, you are already leveraging the Chinese production machine. I would suggest that you talk to Hobbyking and see if they want to carry your plane in their stable of FPV planes. It would probably be more profitable for you and less hassle. They'll just use their own supply chain, and would probably be able to offer it for a lot less money, while you just receive a royalty check, and go on to your next design.
I think I have two things in my favor when it comes to copy cats. one is the fact that if its not a direct carbon copy it will not perform like the techpod does. their are many subtleties the human eye does not pick up. second is the fact that Chinese companies don't tend to directly copy other Chinese companies products. they may make something similar but not a direct copy.
@bertrand
thank man!
You realize that Hobbyking will make a variant, that's going to be half the price.
A community rallies around one of their own! I think soon diydrones will be able to celebrate our first major kickstarter success story ! we are at $33,690 and raising.
