  • It is practical to assume Solo has dual controllers, Pixhawk flight controller and vision sensing computer.

I am curious about which is taken for the purposes nVidia Tegra or Intel Edison ?

  • good!

  • I may have a possibility to test Solo in near future, fingers crossed. Looks nice, but i think 3DR is trying to win this battle against dji with a smart idea. They have probably higher manufacture cost but they are from SF and they know what is important in new tech biz, so apps are coming and this could be a game changer, we will see. BTW how where these monkeys filmed? :) The making of will be interesting.

  • Wonder if we will see some of these software features trickle into tower?  I'd like to think I still have some decent life in my iris+.  Perhaps I should have held out for the "future-proof" solo instead?  Personally I just dont see how 3DR can make that claim with a straight face.  We all know that in a year or two they will be back around with a new drone that ensures no one will care at all about upgrading their solo, right?

  • No mention of battery life, @rob, help us out man!

  • Looks like a great piece of hardware, except for the price. The only place I see this has the P3 beat is with the software, but that's hardly worth the massive price differential in my opinion.

If 3DR wanted to go after DJI users, they missed the mark by a lot.

  • Very impressive. Congrats to the 3DR team for constantly innovating and improving their products. Keep up the great work!

  • Looks good, but I can't believe the legs are that short. Forget trying to take off from grass!

  • This unit looks and sounds great. Ok devs. We are all interested, give us some info on all these questions that has been asked. This suspense  is a killer.

  • It is a very impressive machine and looks a lot better than the white toy-like phantom 3. I'm not usually an early adopter I'd buy one. Very nice!!
