Carbon gimbal... but not flat plate!

Dear Friends, Some time ago I've introduced on diydrones.com my carbon profiled gimbal and now the product is ready for preorder. I tried to design something different than cutted carbon plate. After design I've made a few prototypes and tests. The gimbal working properly, the net weight is 700g without camera. The max payload 3000g.

About the technology; it is vacuum formed 3K carbon fiber certified for aerospace industry, including the resin. After 2 Months tests the gimbal was modified and now is ready for wider usage.

The other movie can show how my gimbals works.

  • Can this gimbal be balanced? It seems to be unadjustable(
  • The torque is enough, I do not see any problem with fast movement of the drone. The focus - infinity, but with follow focus also was correct.

  • Crashpilot1000,

I've add two ball bearings 8x16 mm for roll axis in the commercial version.3692793798?profile=original

Do you think that the motors have enough torque to accommodate a lens hood during fast forward flight ?

At which focal length did you do the demo video ?

    Very nice arms design.

    Olivier.

  • Looks really nice and is probably much lighter than the ugly bolted stuff. I wonder if the roll motor doesn't need a counter bearing.

Looks great!  Hope to get some more information soon.

  • Awesome job, would love to get pricing on a 3 axis model when it is ready!

  • This hexa has 335kV engines, 6s LiPo, 5000 MAh and APM2. Time flight with 15 inch props - 14 minutes.

  • wow I don't think I have seen a quad lift equipment like that... what motors/props are on that quad.

    very nice gimbal.

  • Yes, 3 axis will be ready very soon. Nowadays it is during tests.

The pre order you can place on my email, but please wait for web shop officially announced on this webpage.

Gimbal can support 60d and many other DSLR up to 3kg.

For most cameras you need to use wires or IR connection as a trigger.
