  • To expand my thoughts further on this uav.
If it had a battery life of say 2 hours flight time before setting down how far is it going to drift while recharing(lets say 18 hours)before it can fly again.
So if one wanted to hop between waypoints will the drift affect it reaching it goals ie: drifting almost back to it starting point.
Also if it hits a large wave and flips how do you right it again.
What height is required knowing that the "sweet point" in flight is fairly close to the surface and the wave or swells can be 5 metres on normal days.
Should it not monitor wave action? This to stop it atempting to takeoff or land in large swells.

Could you get some closeup pics and post them here so that we can see the ideas and specs.
This could be a great uav to challange the trans atlantic record set by the guy in one of the blogs.Imagine no refueling require, it refuels its self.
Also had some conserns at the size verses swells(perfect storm).
We have waves that can reach 20metres in normal conditions.

Yep, we wrote about that in December last year. You can follow links to the team's site in that post. They'll also be at the AUVSI meeting in San Diego in June.
