APM Mission Planner now has voice and datalogging!

Another day, another spectacular upgrade of the APM Mission Planner by Michael Oborne. Today's cool new features in v1.09 includes datalogging, so you can record your missions from the ground and replay them for analysis afterwards. No need to download logs from the board itself; just click one button and you can record as long as you want!

Also, speech synthesis is enabled. No need to watch the screen while your UAV is in the air--your GCS will speak to let you know about waypoints hit or other events. This is a lot like the similar feature in HK GCS except you can't define custom phrases yet they way you can in HK GCS (but at the pace Michael's going that will probably be in by next week!).

You can also set the interface to English or Chinese for the growing Chinese APM user group. Note that the manual has also been translated into Chinese, French and German, all by community members! Yay open source!

Just click update in the Mission Planner to upgrade to the newest version, or you can download it afresh here.

Krill, which guages are you looking at particuarly? almost all the info on the guages is on the hud.

Michael, I have recently updated APM Planner up to the latest version (1.014) and was a little disappointed. I think, that the tabs in left-bottom corner of the screen made it less informative, because now it's need to digress to change the tab instead of just look at the screen and see what you want as it was in previous version (all the info and buttons in the right-top corner).

indeed, I just came across the same issue as LazyPilot, "warning no data for 12 seconds... warning no data for 12 seconds..." It doesn't even stop if you disable the speech setting.

Something to look into: I powered down the apm while connected o the gcs by xbee. The voice continued to announce the time of lost link even after the connection was reestablished. I even tried changing flight modes. She would not stop nagging...

Amilcar, yes i did target that, camera and voice, will not work however.
Don, yes that is correct, i use the same as happy's I do plan on adding a few more, but dont know what yet.

Brilliant stuff! Michael thanks a lot for all the work on this in the last couple of weeks.

I'm sure this will be documented, but for speech phrases you can currently use these strings for the timed interval speech setting which will speak the values of each.

{wpn} for Waypoint

{asp} for Airspeed

{gsp} for Groundspeed

{alt} for Altitude

{mode} for Mode

{wpa} for current Waypoint target altitude

Since SVN 371 (1.0.9) it works in Linux under mono again. Yay ! Thanks Michael.
