SteadiDrone QU4D - Full flight with different modes and features + DroidPlanner! from SteadiDrone on Vimeo.
Hey again guys, just a quick post here of some recent videos we've posted, firstly let me once again thank all the developers who make this code as good as it is, we've been 'with' ArduCopter on our systems since the start and we're very glad we have stuck with it, thanks again guys!
First clip is a quick flight with our SteadiDrone QU4D we look at different modes, Stabilize, Acro, Loiter, Auto, Guided and also play around a little with the very cool Droid Planner (We have a SteadiDrone version coming soon with some cool additional features)
The next vid is a LOITER one where we just mess around a little in loiter, amazing code!

Take a look at this page for a mounting device: http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/update-droidplanner-v0-7-5
How have you mounted the tablet on the tx?
This is a good example for PH in high Wind conditions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_V7HWpf8Pos
Nice hightdrop during repositioning.....and repositioning by doing a half circle instead of a straight line. Then problems on handling yaw disturbance with PH. The real importance of loiter comes into play on windy conditions. And that isn't shown here. I see nothing special here.
Duran, I really love the capabilities and design of this platform, but the price is difficult for me to justify as well. Have you considered selling a cheaper (non-carbon fiber, perhaps less features, etc) version, and/or maybe just the motor vibration mounts, and/or stencils? Either way, great design!
Just a little note about the SteadiDrone app:
It will be a derivative work from DroidPlanner. I think it will benefit everyone since SteadiDrone will now support the development of DroidPlanner. The features will be released on both apps, excluding things that are SteadiDrone specific.
Duran,
Thank you for posting, I haven't seen a lot of videos of the QU4D platform which is a shame. I saw the platform for the first time through the post about the IndiGoGo project that was copying it. The frame seems a bit on the higher side for quads ~$350 I believe, but from what I see you have an interesting mount for the camera. Do you have any closeup videos of that camera stabilization system? Is that what brings your cost up above the average frame costs?
I particularly like the folding and durability of your design, great job!
