  • sorry about the typo's guys I was holding my newborn son in my arm! lol...
  • jordi thanks for the offer, really. I did order the 3.3v version so I can wait. i just wanted to try one more time but it does not sound promising

matt thanks i dis try that and it does not write anything to the board. no worries guys i can wait a few more days
  • Steve, this seems to be happening to a lot of people. My fix was to just assume it has written. Then delete the waypoints out of the utility and hit read. See if it will read back the waypoints anyway. It's my belief that there is something wrong with the "Something's wrong" output in some cases. FWIW I use the 3.3 FTDI.

    Steve:

If you are using the 5V FTDI from SparkFun it may not work...

If you send me your 5V FTDI programmer i will send you my SparkFun FTDI 3.3V version for free (i don't like it) this works fine with ardupilot. I need your version to be 100% sure it is not working..
  • this is my final attempt at getting the 5v sparkfun ftdi to work.. I have spent so much time getting the same errors... is anybody using this ftdi cable with success that can possibly help me?

I can upload code to the board and get this

Binary sketch size: 14432 bytes (of a 30720 byte maximum)

so I figure i have the code uploaded... now I go into the config utility and select the com which is 21 and I select write I get

    "Somethings wrong"

which does not help me much so I hit read and get

    "I can't read it"

has anyone had this happen to them? I have the "set rts on close checked" I can see the gps light go out so the sheild is working properly and turning the gps off.... I am uploaded 2.2.2 btw.

This is my last effort then it's getting packed up untill my ftdi arrives and I can try again.
  • well you're very welcom Tom,
    it's helping me as well!

i'm waiting for the z sensor to be available to do some more trial and post the result here.
my only fear is to post too much ;)

    Matt,

I don't have a board in front of me (I'm travelling) so can't check. Is everything connected as usual (RC, GPS, shield)?
  • Thanks but the flashing stat light is not mentioned there, that's why I asked here.
