so I discovered that if I unplug the usb then plug it back in it works... go figure... now onto the next problem. I have the sheild and latest code 2.2.3 and the code will not load if the satellite is plugged in. I am using the 406. Any thoughts? I can upload both gps co-ords and code so long as the gps is physically unplugged. I have it set to 1 in the ardupilo.h text.... which is sirf.... any thoughts on this?
so the red and blue go out... it seems like it is resetting itself but no code is being loaded. It hangs up. I re-installed java on this machine... and still no love.
the gps light does go out after a few seconds indicating to me that it is ready to load the code... but it comes back on and stays on after that... and the program hangs.
I installed it on another computer and the arduino loader now works I tried re-installing java on the other computer there other day and it did not fix it.
So now on to a new problem when I try to load the code to the board it just hangs up. I have gone over everything many times. I will go over it again.... I am glad to hear many others have it working.... they must all be out flying ;-)
same thing happens with 0015 btw.... I am sure this is my computer and it seems I am the only one having trouble... course I don't see many or any posts from people not having trouble.... any help appreciated
well again after hours of trying... now I can't even start the adruino 0016 application.... if per chance I wait about 5 minutes it comes up I try to go to tools and check that everything is set up correctly.... it crashes... so I can't even test my cable... I re-installed the .net framework on my computer but still nothing... any suggestions on this one?
very cool Ric, can you send me a link to your plane? I greatly enjoy seeing others planes.. maybe email me.
Thanks! and agreed I am done with the easy star for long range. I am trying out a multiplex mentor for A.P. This winter I hope to build another twin boom pusher but I have no time at the moment...
I just got my 3.3v ftdi in the mail! hoping to try it out now.
Its good to get the new generation involved in the hobby too!
I have a 27yr old son and a 26 yr old daughter as well as a 4 yr old "baby" girl as well.
The little one's contribution happened last weekend when she discovered her Ken doll fit in the cockpit of my Cessna 337 81 UAV. (some indication of the enormous payload capabilities of this model)
Since I have mounted the complete ArduPilot system incl GPS, shield, XYZ sensors, and pitot tube, and Futaba R/X into the wing, -there is still an empty fuselage large enough for a loaf of bread, ...so far unused...
Thats quite an improvement from having to squeeze everything into my EasyStars!

When you try to upload code, the red LED shuts off during the uploading? No love off?

Hundreds of people are using ArduPilot without trouble. People post when they have problems, not when they don't.
