It will actually by Jordi and an ArduPilot-powered UAV (he's better looking). I'll be inside, with Blimpduino. Blimps are more my speed ;-)
  • Also rumor is that Chris A. will be on the cover of the August edition of Make magazine (the edition will be dedicated to robotics)....
  • Nice presentation, Very good information what this is about,

    Keep it upp
  • chris...a firend of mine was telling me that the Wired magazine editor just crashed his plane at berkley...what went wrong?

LOL...okay...now i see LOL....that sounds like something that would happen to me...

  • Chris,

Nice pres btw. In it, you show some of your mission results as stitched images overlaid on GE. You said that you used some open source software to do the stitching. What software is that?

    Cheers

I made my own ESC boards in the 80s, to much work for 2-3 boards, But I saved big $$ now a 40 amp ESC is $20, I think $25 for your kit is a steal, so I got 3 of them, a pair and a spare. ( I want to replace 168 with 368 on my first board soon)

Yes, that's Bill's UAV DevBoard with the DCM code in the Predator.

All of our UAV intellectual property is free (open source). If you want to make your own boards you don't have to pay us anything. We only charge people if they want us to make the boards for them.

I wish I could attend Maker Fair 2009 and meet with you, what a great educatioal media,
Chris or Jordi, Is the Predator IMU autopilot based on Bill P's UAV Dev board or one of your arduino mega boards? or other hardware? Does it use Bill's DCM algorithms?
Chris, Free UAVs?? .. well all most considering all commercial manufactures charge $$$$ for software plus support, $25 for a kit that allows modular additions, with community support, I thought I would have to reverse engineer some closed system or get a used Micro Pilot for $3000+ , I just needed to wait for you to achieve one your dreams, great work, both of you !!!
Being open source with social engineering levels the playing field to include most hobbyists.
My ArduPilot 2.2 is ready to install on a 100'" Big Birdi glider, now fitted with twin brushless 450 motors, that I learned how to fly RC on in 1978 while stationed in Scotland, as a Navy Electronics Tech at RAF Machrihanish, (where the Aurora space vehicle was rumored to operated from in the 90s, now a wind farm). Later I designed radar jammers, modular mission control data systems and planned B2 systems testing at Edwards AFB. Now maybe I can keep an eye on wildlife at HD resolution in Colorado from 400' with my
WildView UAV. Payloads: HD Video to onboard DVR, Standard video for pilots view with HUD transmitted in real time with telemetry. Pilot has head tilt control of his camera's pan tilt that can be slaved to HD video system or switched to allow a dedicated camera operator, my grand daughter to control HD system. I hope to achieve 30 minute flights.

My 2nd generation ArduPilot-IMU 3.0 UAV may be a high speed delta wing unit to win next years UAV challenge !!! Good Luck with your jet.
