SG-S1000A_TX.jpgYes! Digital wireless video systems is relative high cost and of cause over budget for most people, but the technology is getting closer to what we can reach in our UAV projects. Lets hope these systems will reach prices we all can handle.

Here is a system who fits perfect in a small UAV.

Receiver case is even made with small 7" TFT screen in a nice strong Case.

  • Just to bump this forward, here's a great product from my buddy Zoltan at NGH.

    COFDM TX/RX under $4k

  • FLIR Cobalt 90 is what I am saving my money for.  Just 30K more to go.

    More info on the LTE.
  • This system will need a license due to the frequencies it uses.  It says that the video format is mpeg2 and PAL and NTSC.  Is the video digital or Analog ?  If digital, why not out put to TMDS (DVI and HDMI) ?

I suspect most of the price if for the COFDM radio system. That is really a specialty item that you find in professional broadcast equipment. At this price range I would begin to expect features like sending telemetry data and a Ethernet link built in. The 8mbit digital link would be useful for more then just transferring video.

Weight is 460g and yes much more weight than an Analog Tx. When I say small UAV I don't mean "easystar". ;-)

Believe me! All the "extra gear" in this kit is peanuts. 7" TFT + Hardbox case is about 100 USD.

I would really like to see a system like this for less costs. Well this shouldn't be a sale speak, but more an info about more Hi Tech gear is becoming available for prices never seen before.

Now we just want to see low cost thermal camera. ;-)

  • Bare bones COFDM links are still $20k usually.
  • Just ordered mine.

    I wish! :)
  • So expensive with the same equipment. :-(
