This is the best way of advertising, the company showcase its expertise and the advertising material (images, videos etc) is going viral by itself. This topic alone is essentially an ad for FESTO and for good reason, these robots are amazing.
Here is an interview from robotspodcast of Markus Fischer, head of the Bionic Learning Network project at FESTOrobotspodcast.com/podcast
@Pedro and Jack:
These things are actually both, advertising and demonstration of new types of kinematics.
And to be honest, it is very clever advertising... On every fair they are present, the politicians and others visiting there are photographed in front of these futuristic flying objects. The price is really good for the publicity they get.
And not to forget, FESTO is not a small company... (and they seem to have fun in new things, you should see their inflatable bars at the car-park of the headqurter :-)
Hi Pedro,
Thanks for adding your comment !
What is great here is the community spirit about all people wanting to learn, share,and ameliorate their knowledges / experiences to build UAV projects and make them better.
@Jack Crossfire
You are so wrong my friend. but is best not get down that road because i am afraid it could start a small flame war between both sides of the Atlantic... and it would be off-topic anyway
Never figured out how a German hydrolic automation company can afford to pay these guys to build art robots or how a French cellphone company can afford to pay people to build quad rotors. These European companies must all be government subsidized.
