Flysky i6 Secret settings, mods, updates.

Hello,

I have been experimenting with my flysky i6 transmitter, and learned some neat things.

1) There is a secret menu

2) There is a secret way to put the transmitter into firmware update mode

3) The firmware & device is hackable to allow telemetry, thus allowing you not to require apm telemetry modules.

4) The i6 transmitter has been 'software limited' to be 6ch. It is really more than 6 (seems to be 8 right now).

If you have one of the Turnigy/Flysky i6 transmitters you can learn about these functions on my blog here:

happy to know your thoughts and experiences

Many thanks.

A collection of software modifications for the FlySky i6, some useful, some experiment. All use of this repository is experimental and you use at you…
  • Haha I was wondering. I use PHP Storm and Visual Studio right now. I'll take your advice thanks man.

  • Michael, no developer will encourage you to learn how to reverse engineer .hex files. It is guessing work, luck, years of unteachable experience, hacker skills, so on.

Learn to write hardware interfaces (UI), back-end code, using C or C++. Learn to use Arduino, Teensy, Learn to program them using IDE software. The .hex is the final file sent to the dev board from the IDE.

  • Hello, I was just looking at your GitHub files for this. I am a web developer and I was looking to start doing my own mods. I have experience in html, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, PHP, c# and more. But I have never worked with .hex files. Can you please tell me how to begin developing mods? I opened the hex in a hex editor, but its still jumbled code. Where can I actually write my own code and compile.

I just requested you as a friend. I appreciate any assistance. And yes I tried googling for the last hour.

  • I really want to use your files benbojangles but it will not run on any system i have tried. im currently running windows 10 and cant get anywhere i start to run the update and i instantly get a NTVDM error appearantly your software is not compatible with 32/64bit systems because its a 16bit application any help would be appreciated  alan.sage228@gmail.com

  • You mod has been a great release, thanks.

Do you know if additional telemetry like current sensor or speed can be added?

Remember not to spit into the wind.

Seriously though, we do discourage external links.  Yes, you do share some of the main points here, but really you're just teasing us.

If we thought this was just simple click-bait, then this post would never have seen the the light of day.

This is a sharing community, not just a link page.
