FrSky Taranis Setup 6 Flight Modes plus 1 for APM Ardupilot

Using a FrSKY Taranis X9D, we have been mixing different switches and testing 7 flight modes. RTL on a one-switch return home and 6 other flight modes.   We have included our video logs of how we set it up.   You can use any switches following our3689554728?profile=original example. Since there are so many 3 position switches on a Taranis, you can spare one for a mix.

With 6 CS switches, you can next easily assign sound files to each flight mode.  We will also include the sound files (voice) of all the flight modes in the next video and a link to download them.  Maybe someone will find these useful.  Cheers!

    Is this still an issue?

  • Any ideas how to use mode sounds with 6pos switch, like this one?

It is Pitch Trim Pot (P3), replaced by simple rotary 6 position switch.

I realized that i can't use P3 in Custom Switches or Custom Functions.

  • Yes, once you have your Switches setup, you can fire different rules and assign sound files easily.

In Part 1 video episode 25, we demo three modes just using Custom Function (CF) for the three switch positions, if that is all you need. In Part 2, Custom Switches (CS) Mix. In Part 3, of the video, we will assign those basic Custom Switches we created to sound files for each flight mode, and lastly add advanced Custom Switches to sound Armed and Dsarmed when you Yaw your sticks right or left.

  • And configure it so that the active flight mode is displayed on the LCD as well as announced by sound file when selected.

Love my Taranis, keep finding new things it can do.

  • Troy, thanks for your contribution.  I assume you will still need the Custom Switches (CS) to assign the sound files. In step 3, we continue by taking the 6 CS and assign a sound track to each flight mode.
