This unique airframe is designed from the ground up to resist damage due to crashes, water landings, extreme impacts and even gunfire.  Whether you are a novice pilot or an experienced aerial dogfighter, this airframe will stand up to the toughest abuse and keep flying - AND it works with virtually any flight electronics & gear - DJI, 3D Robotics, Hobby King and more.  Kickstarter Launching Jan 13, 2014

The Sumo Action-Sports quad may not be the first airframe you buy, but it will probably be the last.

Nice job! I wish you the best of luck with kickstarter. Drop me a line if you need any advice:-)
  • Here is a better pic of our airframe, but this is still just a prototype.  We're mixing high and low tech pretty well.  This version has DJI motors, 4-in-one ESC and a APM 2.5 flight board.  We're also using several materials commonly found at hardware and auto-part stores, including zip-ties, drain caps and vehicle trim.

  • This is pretty kool.

    Tough machine.

One thing I hope you will add is some optional rotor covers (like the parrot drone). To make the blades less likely to hurt someone. I think this is a feature missing in many drones on market. The ability to clip on a protective ring around the blades if desired. Especially if working low altitude , maybe amongst people or inside an enclosed area.

    Cheers

  • Good luck guys! I'm unreasonably excited about this airframe! Can't wait to fly it around with my iPad!

  • Finally!!! YAY..

  • We've been developing our airframe for about a year now.  It's gone through many different materials, shapes and sizes as we've honed in on the features that we most wanted in a UAV airframe - near indestructibility, works with any flight gear, can be repaired and flying within a few minutes using common materials and minimal tools.  We love the Aquacopter, but decided that we don't need ours to be waterproof - the ability to fend off a barrage of paintballs and keep airborne was our goal. However it CAN be made waterproof with some very easy after-market mods.  We'll post a video of that project in the next few weeks.  Meanwhile check out all our build and R&D videos HERE: GameofDrones.biz

  • I am pulling for you guys, I loved your presentation in Sebastapol.

  • Congrats!  I'm working on a Low cost 3D Printer that I hope to get up on kickstarter in a couple months.

    Good Luck!,

  • Sorry for the critique (maybe your picture is just an example or visualization (?) but this frame looks exactly like this Helios 400 in this ridiculous video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cp2qiSV8Gs8
