  • Diego,

Do you do anything to dampen vibrations, and have you noticed any effects on the Arduplane from vibrations?

  • Does the CG change as you burn gas? Did you strategically place the gas tank? Awesome setup.

Are you using a separate GPS for Remzibi OSD or have you connected it to the ArduPilot board with Remzibi's ArduPilot  firmware?
  • Diego, very nice plane! This scheme is the most suitable for autopilot and FPV usage. It's very good, that it can fly for around one hour. What cruising speed it flies? I wonder to estimate the range of flight.
  • Paul, if you fly the original trainer and this UAV side to side, you will notice no changes at all, this one does as good as it was when i took it out of the hangar 9 box....!!!!! also, makes rolls and loops and inverted.......

A difference is the really BIG space on the fuselage to install almost everything you may dream of installing on a UAV......... also have been thinking of a parachute!!!!!!    another difference is that the fuel tank is very big and goes in the center of gravity, so, empty or full, i almost can´t see any change on the C.G....

I have estimated something like 55 to 60 minute fly time in this configuration, (there is space for a bigger tank or a second one to gain 25 minutes extra......)

Taking of and landing is very easy, i will make a video of the live video feed from the plane so you can see how stable it is on the air.....

The tail booms are ALIGN helicopter tails..................

Take a new or old trainer, make the mods and i am sure you will enjoy it....

  • I've always wondered with a twin boom like that, do you have to do anything special to get the lateral CG right or does it not matter so much? I assume you're not going to be doing loops and rolls with this plane...
  • Thanks Paul, it is a big thing for me that you say that.
  • Diego, you make some fantastic planes!
  • Teejay, i use ardupilot because mi APM is on the quad! But let me tell you, the ardupilot behaves really good.... next week will be ordering a pair of APM kits...
  • Osd is a remzibi one. This airframe is a.modified hangar 9 solo trainer the fuselage was redesigned to ease the equipment install.
