Our Bay Area UAV Fliers group is up and running (we had a flight/meetup today), and I'm sure there are others. I'm going to make this page a collection of all the local DIY Drones groups, and link to it from the Members tab in the menus above.
So please start a Google Group for your area and post the name/link in the comments below. Make sure they're open to all (anyone can sign up, no approval required). I'll copy them into the post as they come in.
Everyone: you can join any of these groups. Just click on the link and add your email and you should be able to see notifications of meetings as well as suggest your own.

Northern Virginia Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Flyers supports local meetings of UAV amateurs, operators, and hobbyists. Formed in Loudoun County, Virginia, it supports Loudoun, Fairfax, Arlington, and Alexandria Counties, as well as the surrounding region of NoVA, the lower Maryland Piedmont, and eastern West Virginia.
Share your latest creation, tweak, or disaster. Meet up with other UAV hobbyists to learn or share about UAVs (and other autonomous critters) and get or provide help or encouragement in building or operating things that fly, crawl, float, climb, or swim on their own.
The objective of NoVA UAV Flyers is to bring together current and prospective members of the local amateur UAV community, adding face-to-face encouragement and support to the existing global community.
Community Standards
---------------------------------
NoVA UAV Flyers participates with diydrones amateur UAV community and asks its members to observe the mission and standards of conduct outlined by that global community. Embracing the standards of conduct of this wider community allows members of our local support group to fully recognize the benefits of being connected to, and participate with, enthusiasts and experts all around the world.
Please take a moment to visit diydrones.com site, the largest community of UAV enthusiasts in the world, so that you may read its (and our) five primary rules and goals of the community.
Thank you, and welcome to nova-uav-flyers!
